After graduation (1996), I travelled and worked throughout Europe. I spent 3 years in Szeged, Southern Hungary, then went on to travel Romania, Poland, Sweden, London, Egypt, and most of Central/Western Europe. I have some great photos of my travels, but unfortunately that was before the onset of digital photography. (I will find a scanner soon!)
After spending years in accountancy, I decided to try my hand at property developing, and after a lot of hard renovating work (plus a little luck) I managed to turn over a few sales in the UK which was how I came to be in the Western Cape during 2005. I had heard that there were still a bargains to be had in and around Cape Town (particularly Seapoint, Observatory, and out towards Simon's Town). But I set my sights high and jumped on the Metrorail to Stellenbosch, (where I met up with a few of the Transvaal wanderers!) Managed to rent a room in a central flat for R1000 a month - so I spent quite a few evenings having a beer on the balcony and enjoying the view! (photo above)
